Development Placeholder Notice

This document is a development-stage placeholder and is not legal advice. Varsity Page makes no warranty that this content is suitable for production deployment or that it complies with any applicable law. It must be reviewed and rewritten by qualified legal counsel before public release. Bracketed values such as [Legal Entity Name] and [Jurisdiction] indicate fields that require real information before publication.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Varsity Page (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Varsity Page, operated by [Legal Entity Name].

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Varsity Page account. Anonymous browsing has no minimum age, but parents are encouraged to supervise younger users.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post material changes with a new “Last Updated” date and, for significant updates, give you in-app or email notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

2. What Varsity Page Is

Varsity Page is a free, fan-focused platform for following high school athletics. It includes:

  • School pages with schedules, rosters, venues, and sponsors
  • VP Chat, an AI assistant that surfaces published school data
  • Geofenced contests and giveaways run by schools and sponsors
  • Parent ad submissions and team/player browsing
  • Push notifications for games, schedule changes, and contests

Athletic information shown on Varsity Page is published by schools through VP Core (our athletic department software for schools). We are not a school, school district, or athletic association. We aggregate and present the information your school has chosen to make public. Accuracy of rosters, schedules, scores, and similar content depends on what schools enter into VP Core.

3. Relationship with Schools

Varsity Page is an independent platform. Schools subscribe to VP Core under a separate Master Services Agreement, and that agreement governs the school’s rights and obligations with respect to athletic data they publish.

Statements about a school, team, athlete, coach, administrator, sponsor, or event on Varsity Page reflect data the school provided to VP Core. They are not editorial content created by Varsity Page. If something is inaccurate, please contact the school’s athletic department to have it corrected at the source.

4. Fan Accounts

Varsity Page offers three tiers of access:

  • Anonymous (Tier 1): Browse schools, rosters, schedules, venues, sponsors, and use VP Chat. No account required.
  • Authenticated (Tier 2): All Tier 1 features plus following schools, favoriting teams, entering contests, submitting parent ads, and managing notification preferences. Requires a free account.
  • Linked Parent (Tier 3): All Tier 2 features plus student-specific notification controls. Requires verification by school staff in VP Core.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

5. Acceptable Use

Varsity Page exists to celebrate high school athletes and communities. School-appropriate standards apply at all times. You agree not to:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or demean any student athlete, coach, administrator, parent, or other fan.
  • Post or submit obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any school, team, organization, or business.
  • Attempt to circumvent geofence verification, manipulate contest entries, or rig giveaway outcomes.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise programmatically extract data from the Service without our written permission.
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes (e.g., selling ads against our content, reposting roster data) without our written consent.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with any user’s use of the Service.
  • Violate any applicable law, including export controls and privacy laws.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards, with or without notice.

6. User-Submitted Content

“User Content” means anything you submit to Varsity Page, including parent ads, photos, written messages, contest entries, profile information, and support communications.

  • Your responsibility: You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your User Content, including consent from any individuals depicted in photos or videos (especially minors). You are solely responsible for your User Content.
  • License to us: You grant Varsity Page and the relevant school a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when your content is removed, except to the extent copies have been shared or saved by others.
  • Moderation: Schools review and approve parent ads and similar submissions before publication. We may remove any User Content at our discretion, particularly if it violates these Terms.
  • No obligation to display: We are not obligated to publish, retain, or restore any User Content.

7. Contests & Giveaways

Contests and giveaways on Varsity Page are run by schools and sponsors. Each contest has its own rules, which are disclosed to you before you enter.

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old and have an authenticated account to enter. Some contests have additional age, residency, or attendance requirements.
  • Geofence verification: Some contests require physical presence at a specific game venue. We verify this through your device’s location at entry time. See our Privacy Policy for how this works.
  • Consent: You will be shown a consent screen with the contest rules, eligibility requirements, prize description, winner selection method, announcement timing, and data retention policy. You must accept before entering.
  • Winners and prizes: Winners are selected by the method disclosed at entry and announced in the app. Sponsors are responsible for prize fulfillment; Varsity Page facilitates but does not warrant prize delivery.
  • Void where prohibited: Contests are void where prohibited by law. You are responsible for any taxes on prizes you receive.
  • Enforcement: We may disqualify entries, void prizes, or terminate accounts for attempts to manipulate contests (including spoofing location, using multiple accounts, or other fraud).

8. VP Chat (AI Assistant)

VP Chat is an AI assistant that answers questions about school athletics using data published by schools through VP Core. It is read-only: it does not create, modify, or delete data.

  • VP Chat responses may contain errors. Do not rely on VP Chat for critical decisions; verify important details (e.g., game times, transportation, eligibility) with the school directly.
  • Your recent VP Chat conversations are stored briefly so you can re-access them, then automatically deleted (see Privacy Policy).
  • VP Chat uses third-party AI providers to generate responses. Your questions may be processed by those providers under our vendor agreements.

9. Push Notifications

You control which notifications you receive in Settings. We may send service-critical notifications regardless of preferences, such as contest winner announcements for contests you have entered, account security alerts, and changes to these Terms or our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

The Varsity Page platform, the “Varsity Page” name and logo, the “Everyone wins.” tagline, the Championship Bold visual system, and the original software, designs, and content created by us are owned by Varsity Page and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

School logos, mascots, school names, team names, athlete names, photos, and similar marks belong to the schools, athletes, and their respective rights holders. Varsity Page displays them under our agreements with the schools through VP Core.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our written permission.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including breach of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through Settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data after a reasonable period (typically 30 days), subject to legal holds and our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • Athletic data (rosters, schedules, scores, venues) is accurate, complete, or up to date — accuracy depends on what schools publish through VP Core.
  • VP Chat responses are accurate, complete, or appropriate for any decision you may make.
  • Push notifications will be delivered on time or at all.
  • Contests will be conducted without error, and sponsors will fulfill prizes.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VARSITY PAGE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (WHICH FOR FANS IS TYPICALLY $0) OR (B) US $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Varsity Page and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your User Content.
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction — likely Texas], without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of [Arbitration Provider — e.g., the American Arbitration Association], in [Venue — e.g., Bexar County, Texas].

Class action waiver. You and Varsity Page agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds the arbitration provision unenforceable, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [Venue].
